Opuntia microdasys var. pallida f. cristata is a perennial cactus species from the Cactaceae family, with a bushy growth habit. It is commonly known by the name Crested Bunny Ears Cactus and is popular with collectors for its interesting appearance. It produces undulating, twisting stems. They are also segmented, rounded and flattened, covered densely in yellow areoles with tiny yellow bristly hair-like spines (called glochids). These can cause intense irritation to skin, making Crested Bunny Ears Cactus a prickly one to grow as a houseplant. Crested Bunny Ears Cactus form showy, bowl-shaped flowers, coloured yellow with a red tinge, they measure approximately 4-5 cm wide.
