Seriously, how amazing is the iconic Monarch Butterfly? Now that spring is in the air, this workshop is perfect for everyone who wants to raise many healthy Monarch Butterflies this coming season. Join Maria Romero from the Butterfly Musketeers, the author of "An Educational Guide on Monarch Butterflies" in the stunning back garden of NODE, for a fun afternoon together learning the ins and outs of growing your own butterfly garden at home. For the past four years, Maria has been teaching Kiwis about Monarch Butterflies traveling to schools and garden centers all over New Zealand.Â
During this fun afternoon at NODE at our butterfly workshop where you learn the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly and how to raise healthy monarch butterflies and ensure they are around for years to come by planting heaps of swan plant seeds. We'll chat you through common pesticides & disease to be aware of, as well as what nectar plants to have in your garden.
No experience needed. Delightful refreshments and snacks will be provided by Liz's partner Giulio Sturla (of Mapu Test Kitchen) and luckily New Zealand chef of the year in 2018.Â
