About
Join us for a fun afternoon in Lyttelton learning how to make your own living hanging kokedama.
Join us here at NODE to learn the art and craft of the Japanese Kokedama - a traditional bonsai form. Kokedama, simply translated, means "moss ball." Sometimes called string gardens, each kokedama can sit in a shallow dish or hang with the attached line loop, making them lovely additions to any window or tabletop or hanging around your home. In this all-inclusive class, you'll create your own Kokedama from an exotic plant of your choosing and learn best practices for care and upkeep to keep your new string garden beautiful and healthy in the coolest little spot in Lyttelton.
In this hands-on class, you'll create your very kokedama choosing from our wide array of tropical houseplants. You will have a lovely selection of plants to choose from with the opportunity to upgrade to even rare plants on-site if you feel like indulging. We also use a variety of incredible green living moss sustainably sourced from the West Coast. You'll learn all about the care for these special plants. We will supply you with everything you need to know and provide you with everything you need so that you leave NODE with a living piece of art.
No experience needed, all materials, gear, and plants included with delightful refreshments, drinks and snacks.
